Sagrantino di Montefalco Docg: DryIt is a wine of great structure obtained exclusively from Sagrantino grapes from the local Sagrantino vines. Thanks to its rich content in tannins and phenols it ages well. It requires, however, a long period of refining, first in wood and then in bottles.
Montefalco Rosso Doc : Created from the combination of sangiovese (60-70%), sagrantino (10 –15%) and other grapes (Merlot, Cabernet, Sauvignon, etc.) In particular the mixture of sangiovese and sagrantino leads to a characteristic and well structured wine suitable for all types of meals.
The Valentini family settled in Montefalco about 1920, dedicating itself to agriculture, vine growing and olive grinding, on the slopes of the so called “Alzatura” hill. This family is nicknamed “Vocale” pronounced Bocale, and it is this same word which in dialect is used for a wine tankard and a 2 litre oil bottle.Today one branch of the family has started to work in vine growing and wine production again and has a small farm called “Bocale” with five hectares of land.
